The Stock Center is moving to a new building on 8/20/2019. We will not be able to ship strains for the week before and after this date. We apologize for the disruption in service during this time.
***UPDATE 9/10/2019 We have resumed shipping strains this week. Please be patient while we work through the backlog of requests. There are still some remaining issues from the move. This webserver is scheduled to be moved Friday 9/13/2019, so there will also be a brief period when our website will be down while it is migrated to a new IP address. Also, the lab phone number is not working yet, so please use my office phone number if you need to contact me by phone.

TO REQUEST STRAINS or additional information, email us at CGSC@yale.edu or see our other contact information. When requesting strains please include the shipping address and the name of the Primary Investigator of the laboratory. A description of the charges for strains can be found here.
INFORMATION ON HOW STRAINS ARE SHIPPED A description of our shipping methods and instructions on how to revive strains can be found here.
Note: The CGSC Collection contains only non-pathogenic BSL-1 laboratory strains, primarily genetic derivatives of Escherichia coli K-12, the laboratory strain widely used in genetic and molecular studies. For details, see About CGSC in the navigation bar on the left.
The CGSC Database of E. coli genetic information includes genotypes and reference information for the strains in the CGSC collection, the names, synonyms, properties, and map position for genes, gene product information, and information on specific mutations and references to primary literature. The public version of the database includes this information and can be queried directly via this CGSC DB WebServer. For help, use the help links located above and on each query form, or contact us directly.
